COOROIBAH GRANNY FLAT

house design, sunshine coast , granny flat, home design, building design

Still currently under construction. A tiny 1 Bedroom, secondary dwelling designed to house the client’s daughter returning home to the Sunshine Coast to study. The little apartment is consciously built with the ability to adapt to eventually become a literal ‘granny flat’ to accommodate an ageing grandparent, the structure rather than employing a standard set of stairs has kept this future evolution in mind instead employing an access ramp to make life¬†easier for the potential elderly future occupant. The building was designed with universal access design principals, oversized 900 wide door leafs, and a bathroom which could easily be retrofitted with grab rails and other various PWD requirements if required.
