VALDORA HOUSE

This high set modern home is part farm house part beach shack. It is comprised of two pavilions; one public living, dining and kitchen and the other private bedrooms and other more intimate spaces. The pods are punctuated by a breezeway and arrival space, which also functions as a semi protected deck and outdoor room. A pallet of modest materials has been utilised, such as fibro cement sheeting with hardwood cover strips for cladding. This is both in reaction to the Bushfire requirements and also harks back to beach shacks just down the road in Coolum.

There are expansive views of the hinterland and even the ocean in the far distance.

The home was elevated both as a means of maximising the view but also to allow car access and parking below.
